- Corona Virus presents new concerns about traveling internationally.
- Self Dive safaris have compiled the current situation about the virus to ensure an extra level of comfort.
We are committed to providing a safe and fulfilling self-drive, road trip safari adventure for our clients.
The procedures take into account the specific environments of being,
- On a self-drive safari.
- The resources are available in Tanzania.
- And our current knowledge of the virus and its transmission.
- Protection from the coronavirus is equally incumbent on our staff and our clients to ensure the health of each other.
PROCEDURES
Training and education
All of our staff are receiving education about how the virus is transmitted and the adjustments for personal interactions.
We’re teaching enhanced hygiene techniques including details about social distancing.
Our staff is all informed and trained to avoid physical contact (handshaking, hugging, or close contact).
Staff who might not feel well will not be coming to work, just as businesses in other countries are doing.
Protective masks
We recommend all of our guests to travel with masks for self-drive, road trip safaris.
Since all of our safaris are private self-drive and vehicles have rooftop tent for camping there is a more natural social distancing that happens during game drives but we are committed to protecting our guests.
Remember that a mask protects the people around you more than it protects yourself and we have a policy of respect for everyone’s health.
Hand sanitizing and disinfectants
Each vehicle will also go out with 40 extra liters of water and liquid soap for additional hand washing before or after eating.
Remember that good hand hygiene is your greatest protection-reducing transmission by almost 60%.
Further, the heat and humidity in Tanzania decrease the virus’s viability outside of the human body, i.e. in the air and on surfaces.
Social distancing
The most important aspect of social distancing will be to minimize your contact with large numbers of people.
Therefore until there is an effective vaccine, self- drive, road trip safari with rooftop tent for accommodation, and camping equipment is encouraged for the time being.
Our sales team can make the recommendations for tented properties if you won’t prefer camping that we are confident are following our same guidelines.
Major lodges are also developing COVID-19 policies, we can continue to book any property.
