Self-Drive Serengeti

The most popular way to visit Serengeti is by road. As it will take approximately nine hours to drive from Arusha Serengeti National Park, an overnight stay at one or more wildlife sites en route is usually part of the safari itinerary. Passing the main road running through Ngorongoro to Naabi Hill Gate, the first Serengeti entrance then proceed to central Serengeti ”Seronera”. Driving in Serengeti is a bit challenging due to its rocky surface with washboard ribbons. With a Land cruiser driving on this notorious road is possible. Driving is limited to a speed of 25 km/h, otherwise, you will lose control instantly, with a single-vehicle rollover.
